Having assumed the 2022 G7 Presidency, Germany will host the 2022 G7 Summit from 26 to 28 June 2022 at Schloss Elmau, under the programme of “Progress towards an equitable world.”

As part of its Presidency, Germany wants to further strengthen the G7’s responsibility for the global common good and, to this end, to be open to cooperating with all partners, especially within the framework of the United Nations and the G20, on the basis of a fair and rules-based multilateralism. The objective here is always for as coordinated and common an approach as possible on the basis of shared democratic values and universal human rights.

The German G7 Presidency has set “Progress towards an equitable world” as its programme, with the following five major goals:

  • Sustainable planet 
  • Economic stability and transformation
  • Healthy lives 
  • Investment in a better future
  • Strong together
