Climate and Security in Latin America and the Caribbean: From Evidence to Policy Solutions

This side event will advance this debate, including around policy solutions, through the launch of the report Climate and Security in Latin America and the Caribbean, a partnership between two Brazil-based organizations: Igarapé Institute and Institute for Climate and Society (ICS).

Whether shifting rain patterns in the Amazon or melting glaciers in the Andes, extreme weather event and climate impacts can multiply violence and conflict in LAC. This side event will advance the debate about the growing body of research on these issues through the launch of the report Climate and Security in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The side event will take place on 10 December 2019 between 14:45-16:00 in the Brazil Climate Action Hub, Hall 8, Blue Zone.
