Environmental Peacebuilding in Colombia

This online event marks the launch of the report “Environmental Peacebuilding in Colombia: Harnessing Synergies between Environment, Climate, Peace and Security Policies.”

Despite ongoing security challenges, communities across Colombia have shown remarkable resilience—successfully reintegrating ex-combatants, compensating victims, and resisting illegal economies through local environmental peacebuilding. Yet, these inspiring local successes have not yet shaped a national approach that addresses the country’s complex, multilayered conflict.

We invite you to join our virtual event.

Organised by adelphi research as part of the Weathering Risk programme, with support from the German Federal Foreign Office and Fundación Conflict Responses CORE, this event marks the launch of the new policy report:

“Environmental Peacebuilding in Colombia: Harnessing Synergies between Environment, Climate, Peace and Security Policies.”

This report brings together evidence and recommendations for a comprehensive national policy on environmental peacebuilding in Colombia.
