Youth Environment Assembly 2025

29-30 November, 7 December 2025
Nairobi, Kenya

The Youth Environment Assembly (YEA) is the largest global gathering of youth advocating for environmental action within the UN Environment Programme (UNEP).

Organized by the Children and Youth Major Group to UNEP (CYMG), YEA serves as the official youth forum leading up to the UN Environment Assembly (UNEA), ensuring meaningful youth engagement in its processes and decision-making.

The 2025 YEA will be a three day event (29-30 November & 7 December), bringing together 500+ participants from 70+ countries, and will be held at the UNEP Headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya.

In line with the UNEA-7 theme of "Advancing sustainable solutions for a resilient planet", the YEA has three core objectives:

  • Youth Advocacy in UNEA-7: Ensure meaningful youth participation in UNEA, including policy discussions and decision-making, while advancing youth-led priorities like the Global Youth Declaration.
  • Capacity Building: Equip youth with the knowledge and skills to engage in UNEA-7 through advocacy workshops, policy training, and position-building sessions.
  • Collaboration & Network-Building: Strengthen global collaboration, movement-building, and partnerships between youth, policymakers, and stakeholders.
