Laís Clemente Pereira is a Consultant in the Climate Diplomacy and Security team at adelphi global. Her work focuses on the intersection of climate change, environmental degradation, and human security – with a particular specialisation in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). She researches sustainable development, human rights, and socio-ecological challenges across the region, and convenes stakeholders at workshops and conferences to develop actionable policy recommendations.

At adelphi global, Laís has contributed to research on how biodiversity conservation and climate action can be linked to peace in LAC, exploring the role of transnational environmental crimes, deforestation, and illegal mining in driving insecurity. She has been centrally involved in the Berlin Climate and Security Conference (BCSC), including its regional editions in Cali (2024) and Rio de Janeiro (2025), and has co-authored publications on Brazil's climate and human security landscape and on advancing LAC leadership within global climate, peace, and security discussions.

Prior to joining adelphi, she worked on security issues including organised crime and gun control in the Brazilian context. She holds a bachelor's degree in Journalism from Brazil and a Master of Science in Sustainable Development from Germany.
