Adriana Erthal Abdenur

Adriana Erthal Abdenur is a Brazilian policy expert and co-founder of Plataforma CIPÓ, a new climate, peacebuilding and cooperation platform. She is also a member of the Climate Security Expert Network. She was previously coordinator of the International Peace and Security area at the Igarapé Institute, where she supervised projects on climate security, migration, conflict mediation and prevention, and peace operations. Dr. Abdenur is a member of the Committee on Development Policy (CDP) of the UN’s ECOSOC and of the Expert Working Group on Climate-related Security Risks, invited by the German government to provide input the UN system on climate and security. She earned her Ph.D. from Princeton University and her bachelor’s degree from Harvard University.
