Africa Climate Week 2021

15 June 2021 - 18 June 2021
Online

The Regional Climate Weeks 2021 Virtual Thematic Sessions for the Africa Region are taking place from 15-18 June 2021. These Virtual Thematic Sessions focus on partnering for whole society engagement in implementation, managing climate risks, and seizing transformation opportunities, and include workshops, virtual exhibitions and side events.

The central objective of the African Climate Week is to share ways for governments to implement the Paris Agreement in Africa, making use of all the planning tools and support available under the Paris Agreement. In the context of this urgency, ACW is taking place under the banner of “Partnering for transformation towards a low-carbon climate resilient and prosperous Africa: managing risks, seizing opportunities.”

In 2019, the RCWs served as critical stepping-stones to the UN Climate Action Summit hosted by UN Secretary-General António Guterres in New York in September. Please click here to view reports from last year’s ACW.

Focus Areas
