Matthew Brubacher works as an independent consultant specialised on climate change in fragile states. He currently works as the Program Manager for Climate Security in the Horn of Africa with the UN Climate Security Mechanism. He spent the past five years as an Economic Advisor to the UN Support Mission in Libya supporting the country’s energy transition and promoting sustainable management. Previously, Matthew worked in several UN peace operations, as a Cooperation Advisor to the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court and as a Political Advisor to the Palestine Liberation Organisation. He is particularly interested in utilizing conflict dynamics as a means to catalyze low carbon economic recovery.
