Salma Kadry
Salma Kadry (†2026) was a Climate, Peace and Security Specialist at CGIAR. She previously also worked at Greenish, the Cairo International Center for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping and Peacebuilding (CCCPA) and was a member of the Climate Security Expert Network. Her research interests included climate-security-development nexus, integrated analysis and the economic aspects of sustainable peace and development, including energy, infrastructure, digitalization, financing for conflict-affected settings, among others. Salma held a Master’s degree summa cum laude in Global Studies from Wroclaw University (Poland) and Ghent University (Belgium). Her master thesis focused on Egypt’s energy politics post-2013, where she examined two major energy reforms, namely the phasing out of the fossil fuel subsidy program and the shift to renewable energy.
