Stockholm+50

2 June - 3 June 2022
Stockholm, Sweden

Commemorating fifty years since the environment first took centre stage with the United Nations Conference on the Human Environment, the Stockholm+50 meeting will drive action to achieve sustainable development for the well-being of current and future generations.

2 June - 3 June 2022

Anchored in the Decade of Action, the theme of the international environmental meeting is “Stockholm+50: a healthy planet for the prosperity of all – our responsibility, our opportunity.”

The high-level meeting takes place on 2 - 3 June 2022, following months of consultations and discussions with individuals, communities, organizations and governments around the world. Recognizing the interconnections between humans and nature, Stockholm+50 will be an occasion to raise awareness about the importance of protecting our planet. It sets a path for us to overcome the triple planetary crisis of climate change, of nature and biodiversity loss, and of pollution and waste.

Stockholm+50 also commemorates 50 years since the 1972 United Nations Conference on the Human Environment, widely seen as the first global meeting that made the environment a pressing global issue.
