Seminar on "China, Corporate Responsibility and the Politics of Hydropower Development: Assessing Transnational Activism in Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar"

This seminar at the Centre for Non-Traditional Security Studies in Singapore will explore the influence of China’s active engagement in South East Asia and the environmental challenges that come with it. The event emphasizes the importance of civil society participation, including both local and international actors. Case studies of protests against hydropower projects in Cambodia, Lao PDR and Myanmar will be analyzed. The speaker is Dr Pichamon Yeophantong, an Oxford-Princeton Global Leaders Fellow based at University College, Oxford.
