GWP’s Water and Food Security – Experiences in India and China

Water-China-and-India

The Technical Committee of the Global Water Partnership, an international network of organisations concerned with water resources management, has released a focus paper on Chinese and Indian experiences in the field. This case selection allows a comparison of a centralised and a federal political system coping with similar challenges of water, food and energy security. The challenges are posed both by the rapid development of these major Asian polities and by the global economic and ecological trends. One of the report’s conclusions is the ply for expanding a sound information base and raising awareness when facing the complexity of water issues.
