Tajikistan’s Foreign Minister Muhriddin at the Green Central Asia Conference

Tajikistan, indeed all of Central Asia, is a hot spot where climate change threatens to result in severe economic, development and environmental losses.

"Our lives fully depend on water resources, on quantity and quality of water resources. That is why we can say that Tajikistan can play a significant role for managing all of the issues related with climate change in the region.

On one hand, we know that we have to do a lot in order to adapt to the climate change impact issues for the mitigation activities, for example. On the other hand, we hope to implement our collective programs and efforts in the region because climate change issues, it is very comprehensive, it is not only on a national level, not only on a regional level. It is on a global level.

And Germany, one of our reliable partners, is ready to support the implementation of our joint efforts for adaptation and mitigation activities. When discussing any initiative, first of all, you have to believe in the people, in the countries, who are cooperating with your country on these issues. This is important. And we believe in this initiative."
