Bridging climate and environmental security and crimes that affect the environment | BCSC 2025

Focusing on Latin America and building on insights from the Berlin Climate and Security Conference in Rio de Janeiro ahead of UNFCCC COP30, it mapped the scope and complexity of this convergence and identified key policy and operational entry points to advance integrated action across the region.

The seventh edition of the Berlin Climate and Security Conference (BCSC) explored climate, conflict, and cooperation in a turbulent era. Better coordination and innovative collaborations are needed more than ever. Through taking stock of leading practice and convening figures from government, implementation organisations, and research, it advanced actionable climate security solutions amid growing instability.
