Climate in the crosshairs: Security, scarcity, and power in a warming world | BCSC 2025
The session brought together diverse perspectives to examine the security implications of a warming world, the risks of climate action being subsumed by Realpolitik, and the opportunities for renewed multilateral leadership ahead of COP30.
The seventh edition of the Berlin Climate and Security Conference (BCSC) explored climate, conflict, and cooperation in a turbulent era. Better coordination and innovative collaborations are needed more than ever. Through taking stock of leading practice and convening figures from government, implementation organisations, and research, it advanced actionable climate security solutions amid growing instability.
