COP28 UAE Declaration on Climate, Relief, Recovery and Peace (CRRP)

COP28 UAE Climate Relief Recovery and Peace Declaration cover

The COP28 UAE Declaration on Climate, Relief, Recovery and Peace is part of the COP28 Presidency's focus on accelerating global efforts to make fragile and conflicted-affected countries and communities more resilient to the impacts of climate change. The Declaration enshrines a collective commitment to increase investment and actions to drive resilience in countries and communities affected by conflict, fragility or humanitarian crisis.

The document calls for bolder collective action to build climate resilience at the scale and speed required in highly vulnerable countries and communities, particularly those threatened or affected by fragility or conflict, or facing severe humanitarian needs, many of which are Least Developed Countries and Small Island Developing States.

This practical note provides guidance for actors to deliver peace-positive climate action and climate-informed peacebuilding in fragile and conflict-affected contexts.
